WINDOWS Electronic EMSClaims

EMSClaims is written in a WINDOWS programming language to work to some degree like email, such that claims extracted for transmission are put into an outbox, followed by transmission (send) to the various payors.  Assuming that an ambulance company bills multiple payors (Medicares, Medicaids, Insurance Companies, etc.) and in multiple states, and for multiple ambulance services, after extraction for each of the various payors, all claims for all payors are put into the outbox.  Then executing the file transfer (send), each payor is logged into, files transferred, etc. in round robin fashion such that a single "click" files them all, similar to sending email to many recipients with one "click".    In cases where the payor MODEM is busy, the computer will come back around and retry in very short order.  For some Medicaids that are notoriously busy, EMSClaims will quickly get through where old dial-in techniques took extended lengths of time (Georgia Medicaid, e.g.).
